Merlin: Camelot Defence

Maths Lines

This is an excellent strategy game, built to accompany BBC One’s Merlin series.
There are three levels, the last of which is especially tricky and might take a few turns to complete!

Test your addition of pairs to ten by firing balls from a cannon.
It's good fun and actually quite challenging, even if you do know your pairs to ten.

Most of the games below were built by a guy called Nick Kouvaris, of Lightforce Games, who kindly gave me permission to host the games on my site. Lucky you!

WIRBS are back!

Well, sort of... the black, round thingies on this site are from a set of icons called Friendly Fire.

Jokes

'If there are any idiots in the room, will they please stand up' said the sarcastic teacher.
After a long silence, one freshman rose to his feet.
'Now then mister, why do you consider yourself an idiot?' enquired the teacher with a sneer.
'Well, actually I don't,' said the student, 'but I hate to see you standing up there all by yourself.'

Free Font!!!

You may think this website looks cool, but it looks positively sub-zero when you have a font called Akbar installed on your computer!

I've arranged for permission to host the font on this site, so... download the Akbar font!

Akbar font

The font is based on Matt Groening's handwriting, so it's way cooler than Comic Sans. Full instructions on how to install the font on your computers are available here.

If you have a Mac, then you'll need to visit the creator's website and download the font from there.

About This Site

No pixels were hurt during the making of this site.

Neither were any animals, except for a chicken, served in a delicious Madras sauce with a warm naan bread, but that was probably killed before I started. Mmm...

Accessibility

I've built this site with the target audience in mind, which consists of school children, parents and other teachers. The site was built to be accessible right from the beginning of the design process, but please let me know if you have any problems viewing the site. It validates to XHTML 1.0, by the way.

The site displays correctly in Firefox, Chrome, Opera and IE7, while I am working on IE6 and IE8. I've also built in a function to identify mobile browsers and direct to a specific stylesheet, but that sheet isn't finished yet for this design.
